Rizal MicroBank (RMB) recognizes the opportunity to better serve its clients, advance its advocacy for financial inclusion and grow its business through technology and innovation. In line with this, RMB has partnered with RCBC Digital Banking Group (DBG) to be able to accept card-based transactions using RCBC’s Mobile Point-of-Sale (MPOS) terminals.
The MPOS service offers a reliable, convenient and cost effective channel for card holders who have limited access to ATMs and other basic banking services. Said MPOS terminals, which possess the features of both an ATM and a POS machine, are capable of accepting cards for a wide range of payment transactions.
In May and June 2017, RMB branches received training on MPOS services from RCBC DBG. Starting in August this year, cardholders with a prepaid or ATM/debit card issued by a BancNet1 member bank can already use their card at any RMB branch to pay various credit cards, phone bills, utilities, insurance companies, internet and cable service providers, school tuition fees and remit donations2 cash in (load cash value into a RCBC MyWallet Card), cash out (take money out of their bank/prepaid account) or transfer funds.
